FRAAP’S Tube Reactor, in which a number of mixed three-dimensional components are placed in order to make reaction and mixture quickly, is a tube type continuous operation reactor. It could be very long. Its structure includes different forms with single tube, multi-tube parallel, empty tube, but also could be designed to filling tube, in which can full with granular catalyst for heterogeneous catalytic reaction.
When the reactant flow is turbulent, empty tube’s aspect ratio is more than 50; the length of the packed section to the particle size’s ratio is greater than 100 (gas)/200 (liquid)，material flow could be approximated as a flat push flow. FRAAP’S Tube Reactor’s back-mixing is very small, so volumetric efficiency is very high(per unit volume’s production capacity),which especially suitable for applications requiring high conversions or tandem reactions. In addition, tubular reactors can segment control temperature.
FRAAP’S Tube Reactor’s characteristics:
Under normal condition, it is a continuous steady state operation, the material concentration does not change over time in each radial cross-section of the reactor.
The concentration of reactors may not be the same throughout the reaction rate varies with the location of the space;
Since radial has a strictly uniform velocity distribution, it means there is no concentration change in the radial direction, the change of the reaction rate with the spatial position is limited to the axial direction.
